James P. Casey


 

Mr. Casey is a partner with Ziemer, Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders in Evansville and has practiced in the areas of Labor & Employment Law and Litigation for over 20 years. His practice involves advising management on legal issues relating to various personnel decisions as well as providing employer representation in litigation and arbitration. He has extensive experience in representation of private and public employers in employment discrimination and other employment related litigation (e.g. non-compete, trade secret, wrongful discharge, ERISA/employee benefits) in state & federal courts as well as before a variety of administrative agencies including the EEOC, ICRC, NLRB, IOSHA and the DOL. He has served as a Certified Mediator in Indiana since 1992.

Mr. Casey earned degrees from the Indiana University School of Business and Indiana University School of Law. He is a management member of the ABA Labor & Employment Law Section and serves on the Council of the Indiana State Bar Labor & Employment Law Section. He received a Recognition Award from the American Bar Association for his contribution as a topic author on the treatise “How Arbitration Works,” Elkouri, 4th Edition. He has served as the President of the Evansville Bar Association and is a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation.
