Jessie A. Cook


 

Jessie A. Cook is a sole practitioner in Terre Haute.  Her practice is limited to the defense of persons accused of major felonies and capital crimes in both state and federal courts.

Cook received her JD from the I.U. School of Law in Bloomington and graduated from the National College of Criminal Defense. She is an adjunct professor of trial techniques at the I.U. School of Law – Bloomington and regularly teaches for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, ICLEF’s Trial Advocacy Skills College and the Indiana Public Defender Council’s Trial Practice Institutes.

Cook is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Lawyer’s Guild and the Lawyer’s Steering Committee for the ACLU of Indiana.  She is a long-time member of the Indiana State Bar Association and formerly served on the Board of Governors and as the chairperson of the Criminal Justice Section for two terms. She was a founding member and former board member of the Indiana Federal Community Defender’s Office.

Cook resides in Monroe County with her husband, Steve Dillon, a criminal defense attorney practicing in Indianapolis.
