Q. Who can apply?
A. Anyone who used the We the People textbook in school at any grade level, elementary, middle or high school.
Q. Are there age restrictions?
A. There is a minimum age restriction. Alumni Ambassadors must be at least 13 years of age. Outside of that, there are no restrictions. As long as you went through the program sometime in your life, you are eligible no matter how far removed from the program.
Q. Does it matter where I live now?
A. No. Alumni Ambassadors can live anywhere in the world and can have gone through the program in any state. We will simply match you with a cause in your area.
Q. What is the process once I’ve submitted my application?
A. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of acceptance quickly. At that point, our Alumni Ambassador Representative will contact you to begin the process of placing you with an organization. When appropriate, we will issue press releases in your community about your involvement, drawing attention to We the People, your civic engagement, and the cause that matters to you. After that, you define your own engagement.
Q. Can I select a cause with which I’m already working?
A. Absolutely! Ambassadors often will list a group with whom they are already volunteering. You would simply continue your involvement, but with the added title as a We the People Alumni Ambassador.
Q. Can I change my cause if I move or it doesn’t work out?
A. Yes. The Alumni Ambassador Representative will always work with you to find the right organization, or add another organization. Ambassadors can work with more than one cause.
