New Fund to Further Diversity in Legal Profession
Named for retiring Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Shepard
Established in 2012 upon the retirement of Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court, this Fund aids the following programs for diversity in the legal profession:
ICLEO - Indiana Conference on Legal Education Opportunity and
the Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Race and Gender Fairness.
A committee specially designated to adminster this fund will make recommendations to the Foundation's executive director about how to distribute the dividends of the fund. The makeup of the committee will include:
- three members appointed by the chair ofthe Indiana CLEO Advisory Committee
- three members appointed by the chair of the Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Race and Gender Fairness
- one representative designated by the honoree and
- one represetative of any group or individual who donates $15,000 or more to the fund in a calendar year.
